the minimal server superissue

Individual problems are going to split off this superissue as we break down the problems involved.

• linux server
  • basic communications: python is easy
  • need a protocol for messages (header + payload based, most likely)
  • maintain state for each connected player
  • define minimal necessary state (probably: username, 2d position)
  • boundary checking (minimal boundaries would be min+max coordinates, i.e. limited playing field)

Also needed:

• ncurses client (unless graphical client gets done sooner)
  • connect to server
  • transmit username (command line argument)
  • display playing field and player positions (sent by server)
  • allow player to change own position and send updates to server

Dropped UDT as a transport protocol (issue #2). Switching to python for now.

Minimal lobby and battle servers exist in guns_server/{lobbyserv-demo,guns-udp}.py as of 5a4a4fc72f.
