Another future step: impassable terrain (e.g. canyon walls), rough terrain (with effects on player movement).
This will naturally require a way to getting the map transmitted to players, so will require the lobby mode server to be functional.
Also consider randomly-generated infinite terrain (yay, minecraft), in which case all that needs to be transmitted is the seed.
