In v38, when accessing the main menu after backing out from any sub menu that isn't PLAY (MODS, SHOP, EXTRAS) while the selector visually resets to the PLAY option correctly and will even enter that correctly if you press the select button, if you attempt to move the selector to another option, it will seemingly skip to a non-sequential option all the way from PLAY.
I have determined this is because the selector is being moved from the previous selection's position. So if you selected MODS, then depending on whether you navigate up or down, it will move to either PLAY or SHOP. If you were in the SHOP, then it will move to either MODS or EXTRAS, again depending on whether you navigate up or down.
