Crash on start up #48

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. The program was working fine then around 01/31 tried to open the program and
the icon
appeared for a second and the program closed.

2. I attempted the fix in issue 45 but but that pref file did not exist on my
machine.

3. I have reinstalled builds 20-22 and reinstalled pstars and still have the
same issue.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Newest version of BS and 10.6.2 Snow leopard.

Please provide any additional information below.

Thanks for the report, bzawodni. I'm not having any trouble launching the
program on
my machine, either from my trunk code or the latest release. Could you attach a
crash report for me? To find the crash report, look in the folder
~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ for a file that starts with BlazingStars and
the
date and ends in the suffix "crash". If you double click on that file, it
should
open in the Console app, and you can select the text and paste it into a comment
here. Or, you can just attach the file directly to the comment, and I'll look
at it
from there.

This one may be more relevant. It is from build 22.

Okay, the build 22 crash happened because BS can't find the PS preference file.
 In
the folder ~/Library/Preferences/ there should be a file called
"com.pokerstars.user.ini". (Note that the similar .plist file, if one exists,
is not
relevant - it's just the .ini file). Can you make sure that it is there? If it
*is*, try trashing it, restarting PS, and then re-opening BS. If it's not ...
hmm, I
don't know what would cause that off of the top of my head.
