Show indication when shortcuts are disabled #79

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
It is possible to disable keyboard shortcuts (using the default shortcurt of
alt-command-p), however it's not easy to tell whether or not they are disabled.

I propose either changing the Mac Os menu bar icon to include a red cross when
disabled, or show a small (non-modal) popup in the center of the screen to
indicate the change

This should be under "Enhancements" but I can't find the option to change it

Nice suggestion. I like the idea of indicating it in the menu bar icon.

Great idea. As I've mentioned elsewhere, though (see the front page), I'm not
developing BlazingStars right now. If anyone would like to implement this idea,
I'll give them committing rights.

Hi Steve,

I'm a web and iPhone developer but haven't developed for OS X specifically.
I'll see if I can figure it out in the next week or two, and if so I'll hit you
up for commit access.

I've had a play around with the code and have managed to implement a working
solution. I wasn't able to get the release build working (I guess it needs
signing) so haven't been able to test things extensively.

Anyway, I'm happy to submit it back, just awaiting instructions.

Thanks for taking a look at it. I've given you committing rights for the svn,
and you can go ahead and check in your changes. When I get a free moment, I'll
do a release build. In the meantime, feel free to have a crack at other things
if you like.

I've submitted this change in r121. Before I do anything else I'll await some
feedback on this particular change ;)

It looks good, qzervaas! Thanks for doing the work on this. Sorry it took me
so long to get the release out, but I've been pretty swamped. If you feel like
doing more work on the project, let me know, and I'll figure out a way for you
to sign the releases.
