No whitelist, no. Dropbox works by using an OAuth2 token - once logged in the token is saved locally (and encrypted of course) so that next time you log in the token sent to Dropbox to use for authentication. I can't think of a reason that this wouldn't work, as it's how Dropbox is intended to be used from an API perspective.
Anything weird with you account? Business/enterprise? Extra security? MFA?

Seems the problem no longer persists; the latest addon is working fine;
logs me out of dropbox on browser restart, i must re-verify and re-activate drop box on every start. i clear all cookies and storage on shutdown; is there something i must whitelist?
