Edit: heads are even upside down when on ground

I know about the heads being upside down, but I will look into items glitching out.

Heads showing as upside down should be fixed. I can't reproduce the items glitching though.

Might FoamFix or similar mods be the cause?

Possibly. I'd say try the mod with just it's self and any mods that you want heads for and see if it persists.
