ugly image issues #812

Ugly is a bit harsh, but there are images that obviously need improvements. Please list any you see here. Thanks.

Mirumoto has excessive glare that makes his ponytail look like a reflection.

The skin tones on the Studio Foglio buttons are too dark. I don't think they did much tanning in Victorian era Europe.

I think that Apples is too dark, certainly when compared to Green Apples.

Button Brains appear to be rotated - I think the guiding principle should be that the numbers are flat, and Ron Graham and Fan Chung Graham, at least, are leaning. Additionally, Fan Chung seems to be a bit out-of-focus, leaving the name nearly impossible to read (for me).

Thanks. I'll look for a better source image for Fan Chung Graham, or see if there's something I can do to repair this image.

Tilted buttons are at the bottom of my list of image fixes. Reason: When I first started I worked with the easy buttons that were already made into images for the web, and all I had to do was cut and paste the button circles into a transparent box and add the drop shadow. I remember noting in an early game that I just noticed I left one of the ogres at an odd angle. My opponent hadn't noticed and stated that he thought it was the same on the old site.

This doesn't mean this problem should be ignored - it just means it's a low priority for button image repairs. I've tried to keep new images properly aligned. I have noticed a few mistakes after-the-fact, such as when I used the name to judge proper rotation when I should have used the dice.

@blackshadowshade Yeah - I should have compared Apples to Green Apples when I did the image, but I think I compared it to the source I was using. There's a change I want to make to Green Apples, too - and both of them have alt images - so they'll probably be the first repairs I make after I finish with the button images.

Cesare Note: all of metamorphers were added with bad button art just as an improvement over the default button art.

I think I fixed Cesare. per #1490 I should redo Niles again - he's too dark.
