Expression of support #2

Hi, this isn't an issue as such... more an expression of support.

I was directed to this proposal by @johannhof via https://github.com/privacycg/storage-access/issues/72#issuecomment-1706561031

An initial reading suggests that this meets our use case and would allow the simple use of images and other content in third party contexts that our work requires.

What's the best way to express more support for this feature?

This is a great way to express support, thank you!

Hi @bvandersloot-mozilla

Are there any updates on this proposal? And also, how would institutions - such as National Libraries, Leading universities and cultural heritage organizations - make formal statements of support? What's the best place to do that?

I've previously attended w3c privacy-cg calls, but not for a while - is that still the forum?

I’m a software engineer at Harvard Library and I’m writing to express our group’s support for this proposal. This extension will allow us to continue supporting mission-critical use cases that will no longer work after third party cookies are no longer supported, in particular the ability to view media from different domains, as described in this issue.

Let us know if there are any updates on the status of this proposal and how we can express our support, as this use case is very relevant to institutions around the world in the libraries, archives, and museums community. Thank you!

I'd like add my support the proposal https://github.com/bvandersloot-mozilla/top-level-storage-access as a sensible way to support opt-in third-party access for important Cultural Heritage / Library use cases (I'm AUL for IT at Cornell University Library) as described in https://github.com/privacycg/storage-access/issues/72#issuecomment-1755892840
