Problems with Dictation and 10.9 #238

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.6b

Please provide any additional information below.

I used be able to transcribe audio files using Mountain Lion dictation feature:
set Soundflower as the default output device; set Soundflower as the input
device in the Dictation preference pane, play a file in Quicktime in the
background and see the words appearing in a TextEdit window. Not anymore with
10.9. It looks like Apple tweaked something and Soundflower no longer works as
a valid sound source for the dictation. Soundflower still appears in the
Dictation preference panel as an input device. The microphone level indicates
that the sound is playing. However, once I enable recognition by pushing the
shortcut key, the sound level stops and it appears like the dictation daemon
receives no sound from Soundflower.

I know this is probably a fringe use case, but I thought I'll let you guys know.

I find the same problem. Using Soundflower v1.6.2 with OS X 10.9.4, exactly the
same as above. Trying to capture a spoken soundtrack mp3 played in iTunes.
System 'sound' output and input, and 'dictation & speech' input are all set to
Soundflower (2 track). Playing track with dictation and speech dialogue open
shows microphone reacting to sound. Then when I activate dictation in Word (Fn
Fn) the sound level stops.
