So sad to hear that. Bomi is still the best GUI for mpv. I hope someone forks it to work with libmpv.
Thanks for your efforts and good luck on real life.
It's sad to hear that your journey for Bomi has been ended. Thanks for your efforts.
Even though bomi have been unmaintained for several years, still many people ask me about its state. I really appreciate that many people care about my project. I have been thinking for many years: I'll re-start working on bomi sometime in future. However, as all of you know, it never happened.
Now, I think it is the time (or too late) to notify unmaintained state. This is not only for those people who ask about bomi, but also for me to carry on. Whenever I started new project or do other hobby things, I concerned about bomi, like
This is why I want to notify stopping of bomi officially.
There are some reasons for me to stop working on bomi. First of all, I cannot have such time to spend for bomi like in the old days. In those days, I was not employed and I have plenty of time to do what I want to do. Now, I have to work hard in order to pay bills and off-time is very precious for me as for many other workers.
Also, I am not interested in developing video player no more. At least for now. It was for necessity to start developing bomi. There was no satisfactory video player for Linux desktop at that time which drove me to work on bomi harder. However, streaming service is main stream now. Many people including me subscribe OTT/streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, Youtube, Twitch, etc. As a matter of fact, I have never used offline video player for several years except when seeing a short video clip.
Anyway, I have to apologize not to keep my promises for updates. I am deeply sorry who waiting bomi. Maybe I start again working on bomi sometime, but I think it won't happen in near future. Thanks for everyone who keeps watching bomi player for many years.
