typing speed for non-US-languages #5

Hi there! This is not really an issue but duckhunter is really slow in other languages than US-English (for Example German) if you compare to its typing speed in English... I'm not familiar with HID, so could you explain the reason (if you have a minute or two)? Thanks in advance.

i dont have anything to do with the development of this, but as someone who writes code for things like this, i would hazard to guess that it has something to do with non-english characters being typed using alt codes or time-sensitive user input modes. though, i dont see how that would slow it down more than just a few miliseconds, so i doubt i'm right. this also assumes the usb duck device makes itself look like a standard USA english keyboard. but i still thought it was worth saying as just something to think about and/or test to confirm by typing in a bunch of umlaut characters vs a bunch of "standard" characters and timing it.

otherwise, i very much doubt it has the ability to "process" words themselves in various languages, thus making it have something to do with the non-standard characters found in german.
