[SUGGESTION] User friendly home-page #105

This is an idea for sometime in the future, and I think it will be very good for drawing in users and adding legitimacy to the website.

Currently, the home page looks like any of the other pages on the site.

HomePage1

I think it's a great look for the rest of the site, it's simple and clean and has lots of space for information on the right, with the website TOC on the left. However, I think the home page should be quite different, to match the same style as other main pages in the learning/education industry.

For example, Khan academy's home page looks like this:

HomePage2

Then, the rest of the site (where the guides are found) follow the TOC on the left and information on the right style, just like the CBC website:

HomePage4

As another example, Coursera's (website for taking online classes) home page looks like this:

HomePage5

I think we could follow their style. Our home page shouldn't have the bar on the left, but be a full page. It should have some inspiration lines, pictures, and a clean top bar with our logo and other options. With this in mind, here's a potential mock-up of our home page.

When you hit the Modules tab, I think that there should also something similar to the "Courses" dropdown on the Khan academy website, but with our modules instead:

HomePage3

What do you think? My suggestion is that we implement some sort of home page like this into the CBC website.
