Not researched yet, but there sure as hell are other designs of laser harps. Those can be built so cheap, these days..: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=laser+harp+diy

http://www.instructables.com/id/Frameless-Laser-Harp/ looks rather easy to build. Only one laser with stepper and mirror, one LDR sensor and an Arduino...
