[not really a magic mirror-thing, but I do stumble over this every time, I do setup a new instance of rpi]

sudo nano /boot/config.txt

add display_rotate=3

not working any more: now this is configurable through the UI Menu preferences and Screen configuration. (In my case it is LEFT)
