Revision A board not working #98

I have a revision A C64. It's not so much that the mod isn't working as the instructions for this revision are simply unclear. I have a wire running from the 5V leg of the power input to the square via of the RFCONC2. I also have 4 of the grounds soldered down into the holes directly underneath. I am testing on a PVM. I recapped the entire board and confirmed that it previously worked via composite cable. I have tried having the voltage selector jumper set to both open and closed because it's not clear which setting it's supposed to be.

Despite all this, I'm getting a very distorted image on the screen. The image actually goes black if I apply any sort of pressure to the component board.

From what you say, I guess you have installed the FPGA board correctly. You did not say anything about the VIC-II pick-up board, but this is hard to mess up anyway. When the board reacts to mechanical preasure, there mus be something damaged there. If you have obtained it from videogameperfection.com, please contact them and see if you get a replacement.
