The use of Copyright in a GPL licensed file or work #1449

These are all the copyright files in the c172p that I could find, I have removed any that I had and changed them to attributes.

I don't understand how you can copyright a copyleft work? Is this technically a problem?

I think they should all be changed to attributes but I have no idea if that is even permissible by anyone other than the copyright holder. If it is not, is this aircraft work capable of a GPL license?
