simulator: State file name not updated when saving / restoring file #1226

Found while investigating #1224: It looks like the name of the state file is not correctly stored in preferences.

To see the problem, open bug1224.48s, quit the app and restart. You end up with a blank state.

This might be related to the issue reported on Linux by @wiljea in email, where he says that he has trouble saving the state.
