Just confirm when ready and it is a quick change. I assume for consistency we also want to change the /usr/local/cuda symlink which currently points at the default of 7.0 as well.
Let's see if there objections over the next few days to make sure we don't disrupt anyone's workflow.
All: You can always pin your cuda SDK version by selecting the appropriate module in you ~/.modulerc -- we are just proposing to update the default.
Yes, we would want to update that symlink too.
Thanks!
Understood. I tend to not change items on a Friday anyway. So we'll leave this here for folks to comment or not comment and change next week if clear.
Fine with me, appreciate the opportunity to comment. If we keep the old cuda modules around as usual, i can't imagine anything breaking. Thanks again! -A
Just make sure to pin the cuda
version in your ~/.modulerc
if you want to keep using CUDA 7.0!
Fine with me
I assume somebody will declare when enough comment time has passed to make the switch.
Let's go for it. Thanks, everybody!
Out of office at moment but will do when I return and state so here.
Module updated. Symlink changed. Report if you see otherwise what system.
Re-open if problems.
Our primary production software OpenMM is going to a release that requires CUDA 7.5, so unless there are objections from others, we would like to request that the module environment default cuda be updated to
cuda/7.5
.
