Kangaskhan hit mega punch on Misdreavus...? #17

When fighting one of the trainers on route 45 that has a Kangaskhan, it hit mega punch on Misdreavus (ghost type). I tried to find out if there's a held item that let's normal/fighting moves hit ghost, but couldn't find any.
