Distributing Python is difficult. It'd be nice if I rewrote this in a compiled language and distributed binaries.

Candidates:

Vala
- neat little language
- docs lackluster
- Gnome-specific
- IDK for how long it will exist
Rust
- Liked by Gnome folks
- difficult for me to learn
- non-generic build system
Go
- Google, eww
- nice language but sometimes way too simple
- AFAIK has nice Qt bindings too
