Treadmill stops automatically in Zwift #2539

Treadmill: Focus fitness Jet 7 iPlus iPad Pro iOS 17.5.1 (Zwift) iPhone 13 Pro Max iOS: 17.16.1 (qz 2.16.68) Garmin Epix (hrm)

Hi Roberto,

We mailed on 24 August about an incline issue in Zwift with my treadmill. Hereby the debug file (10.51 hrs). debug-zo_aug_25_10_47_53_2024.log

The problem is that de treadmill starts but after a few seconds stops. It does this in every freerun (with or without inclination). Calibrating in Zwift is works fine. With qz version 2.15 I had no auto inclination but the speed was fine and it didn’t stop. Any ideas?

Zwift inclination gain is set on 0.5 Zwift credentials are filled in correctly ✅

okay thanks. Perhaps you need this debugfile instead of the first one to see the problem.

i guess i got the issue: if you don't start zwift, the tape doesn't stop right? i guess the problem it comes when the inclination is negative

Sorry it stops outside Zwift after a few seconds. It does stop directly when I push the incline button + but it also stops when I don’t touch anything

Without qz the belt works fine also inclination

do you have also a debug log from the previous version so I can compare them? i don't see anything strange. at some point the treadmill just send speed to 0 by itself

are you able to install back the production version, maybe on an ipad or even on the same phone to collect a debug log with a working version?

Hi Roberto, Okay, here two debug-files from qz version 2.15.4 The first time I tried it with a run (I had not switched on debug log), the belt stopped after a long decent in Zwift (incline did nothing as known before). I tried it again two times (see diving logs) and then it worked fine. The belt kept running uphill and decent. I pushed the button incline in the qz app and then it inclines fine also down. When I press - on 0.0 the belt keeps on running.

by the way I select the ‘tread’ as the powersource and for cadence.

I tried the new version but the belt stops after a few seconds after the start. By the way: I can only start de belt by pressing start on the machine. The start button in qz does nothing (same in previous versions). The incline button works.

i was also comparing the new logs against this https://github.com/user-attachments/files/16740665/debug-zo_aug_25_16_20_26_2024.log *log from the 2.15.4) and the only thing that I can see it's that here the inclination is never touched from the QZ itself. maybe the inclination is causing something in the software on the treadmill?

i mean in the log https://github.com/user-attachments/files/16740665/debug-zo_aug_25_16_20_26_2024.log from the version 2.15.4 QZ never sends a command to change the inclination at all (becaue there wasn't auto inclination handled with the zwift api, i introducted this 8 months ago). That's the main difference from the newest one, where the command for changing the inclination is always sent at least once in the log that you sent me.

Of cource, in the newest version, QZ will change the inclination automatically but, as you are showing me, it seems that interfers somehow with the tape (stopping it)

I only see version 2.16 (852) in Testflight

in test flight you have the button "previous builds", you can select the oldest one there 797

ok so it's very straight to me from the log that when you change the inclination the tape stop. the commant sent is the same of the 2.15.4 the only thing that changed is the fact that on the 2.15.4 you were changing it manually, instead in the newest one is from the api, but it shouldn't change anything.

also another strange thing: in the newest one when zwift ask a 1%, qz it sends it, the treadmill reacts and 200ms after it turns back to 0% by itself.

there are ghosts for sure!

Do you see something different on the treadmill between the working version and the new one?

Sorry no I don’t see any differences. I don’t know if it can help you but the treadmill works interactive (speed and inclination; no qz) with the program Kinomap.
