Cadance not being recognized on iPad

Describe the bug A clear and concise description of what the bug is.

THE BUG: I use my iPhone and my iPad when I ride my Echelon Sport bike. My iPhone runs the app, and my iPad runs the Peloton app will recognize my Apple Watch for heart rate but it will not recognize the app for cadence, it pops up but it won’t connect. The app does connect to my iPhone so I can see the metrics.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to '...'
2. Click on '....'
3. Scroll down to '....'
4. See error

ERROR: “can not connect to app”

Expected behavior A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.

I would like to be able to see my cadence on my iPad. This way my metrics would be recorded in the Peleton app correctly.

From the qz point of view, qz is doing everything correctly on the log. Did you try to reset the network setting on the iPad and reboot it? It seems a classic ios cache issue after an ios update Let me know

I rebooted the iPad. I’m not sure how to reset the network settings. Thank you for looking at the issue for me! Install the free app nrfconnect on the iPad while you have qz connected and show me how you see qz there from this app. So we will understand if it's a peloton issue or a qz one

Not sure if it helps or not but I hit ‘connect’ on the one screen under Scanner. And it wouldn’t let me.

Enable virtual device must be enabled. Enable it and restart qz Let me know

You have also to enable the virtual Bluetooth device. Default are both enabled, I guess you changed by mistake

On nrfconnect now you see something different? You have to see qz as device name and cadence along hr.

I appreciate your help. The app does provide me metrics when I ride. True, I would like for my cadence to be provided during my rides for the stats in the Peleton app; but it’s not the end of the world. I appreciate all that you have done in providing this app!

You can also try to reinstall both apps, maybe it's a ios cache issue after an ios update

I don’t know what to say, without having a detailed error from peloton it’s hard to understand what’s wrong. Since when you have the issue?

No worries. You have went above and beyond trying to help me fix it.

The issue has been going on for a while. I want to say it worked when Peloton updated the App to display the cadence/ resistance of what the instructor was saying but that it didn’t work for long.

I’m of a runner than a biker and I also have a gym membership along with the equipment, so I don’t use this bike a ton. The reason why I came to ask about it was because my Sole treadmill will connect to the app via Bluetooth displaying my metrics, which then are relayed to my stats in the app. Figured I would try to do the same for the bike.

I’m grateful that you created this app and the fact the metrics are displayed in real time via my phone. Before that I was converting and that’s not fun. You have made using non-Peloton equipment so much easier with the creation of this app!
