We currently won't get a notification if a task fails, but it should be relatively straightforward to enable that in GCP:

Another (non-mutually-exclusive) option is to post a message to a dedicated slack channel on failure.

Update on the slack webhook: I have been added as a collaborator, but need to update the scopes of the app to allow incoming webhooks. Waiting on a slack admin for approval
