Erin Curtis asked that we update the homepage hero text as follows:

California Snowpack Dropping

Though early winter storms increased our snowpack, California had its driest consecutive January and February on record dating back over 100 years in the Sierra Nevada. Sierra-Cascades snowpack for the water year to date was 61 percent of average on March 15. Find out more:

Hemingway measured this as Grade 8 readability, and the first sentence as very hard to read. Edited the text and sent back for approval:
