invalid xml character #57

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

My computer installed an automatic update (I don't remember what update) and
suddenly I could not open my budget file. When I click on the icon it tells me
"character reference "&#28" is an invalid xml character" and then sends me to a
new blank document. I have no idea how to get it back to actually working again
and am anxious to; I rely heavily on the program for finances.

I am using dsBudget 2.0.21a on Windows 7.

Is it possible to get it back?

Can you try re-installing the latest Java (from java.com)? If that doesn't fix
it, can you send me your BudgetDocument.xml?

Thank you,
Soichi

I tried the java thing and it didn't help. I even tried emailing you the
document. Haven't heard back. Tried starting a new budget document and another
java update wiped that one out too.

The error message has changed. "Can't find dsbudget.conf. Make sure you are
using a luncher shortcut which sets the current directory, or run .exe on a
directory that contains the conf file"
Can you help with that one?

VKCaron,

Sorry for the trouble. I haven't received your budget document. Can you try
sending it to me directly at soichih@gmail.com? The new error message indicates
that you are not running dsBudget via desktop shortcut (or via broken desktop
shortcut). How exactly are you starting dsBudget?

Thanks,
soichi
