Rumble Types still not fixed - DO NOT CLOSE - the issue is in the use of EnumEffects! #1017

I reported this ages ago but the cocksure dev for lilypad closed it citing a
driver fault

This is not the case, the plugin was deved around half arsed Logitech drivers
which include hacks that expose all techniques regardless of the controls
ability to use them.

The problem and other controllers with this problem is centered around the use
of EnumEffects, MOST drivers bawk when trying to enumerate axis and rumble
types via enumeffects which the developer of dolphins input code has
experienced first hand.

The driver on my device supports the Square, Sine, and both Triangle modes just
fine in FEDIT, Harakiri on PCSX and Dolphin x86.

The devs claim that you don't need more than constant is crap, games on the ps2
and psx direct rumble effects via specific motors to simulate heavy rumble,
light rumble, or grinding. The Constant motor value is a constant effect type,
meaning it throws both motors on. When this value is set to both motors the
game will always rumble both motors, meaning you lose out on the discernible
rumble effects of the smaller motor vs the large motor.

Ramp can direct to either motor however the wave simulated usually only
triggers the small motor in PCSX2.

The report is valid, the language however is not.
I doubt Lilypads dev will go back to fix it anyway.

Abusing the guy who needs to fix it, really the right way to go about things?

not abusing ref, merely bringing to attention that his response to the previous
bug was half cocked given that he didn't even try to ascertain more information
on the issue, merely assumed a half baked DS2 adapter was being used and closed
the bug.

Maybe he previously did not realise that the constant force spun both motors,
but that does not change the fact his cocksure attitude will beget response in
turn.

never the less, i would much prefer to be able to use triangle up for small
motor and triangle down for large, these rumble types proved to be the most
accurate to the PSX in harakiri.

Sounds to me like you know what needs to be done. Why don't you stop whining
and try to supply a fix to the problem yourself. Then the devs can apply it to
the current revision. That way the plugin will work properly and you can prove
your point while getting some work done. If you cannot or will not try to fix
it yourself then do not demand it be fixed by someone else who has already
looked at the issue.
