Steambot Chronicles - Game Hangs

In the game Steambot Chronicles, there is a point you get to in the story where 
you meet a guy named Dandelion. Here is where the game hangs. One of the 
characters, Basil, is not rendering on screen (is invisible) and once he speaks 
a certain line (its the same line of dialogue each time) it hangs. I assume he 
is supposed to interact with the environment after speaking, but can't since he 
doesn't exist. As far as I know, this has never worked on any version of pcsx2, 
including the most recent that i could find, 1.3.0.5927 released March 23, 
2014. There's no sign of errors in the console. I am running Windows 7 64x with 
many different settings across a few of the GSdx plugins (up to r5875), SPU2-X 
(also up to r5875), and the rest are standard ___null and LilyPad r5822. Can 
anyone please help me with this? I found a few closed threads on this topic 
(some dating back to 2009), but not one has been actually solved, aside from a 
work around where you play the part on a regular ps2, but I really don't want 
to have to pay for something so I can move the save file this one time and 
probably never have to use again. I just really want to play my game without 
starting over and playing without cheats :'( especially after all the time I 
put into making that pnach file.

hmmm.... 5 days and no response. thanks guys. even if you didnt know what to 
do, a reply would have been nice.
