Front Mission 4 (pcsx > 0.9.6) #358

1) Did the game ever work correctly (i.e. not have this problem) on the
Official PCSX2 build or an earlier version of PCSX2 playground?
(If so, please specify the latest pcsx2-playground or Official revision
that last worked.)

On version 0.9.6 the game works but suffers from SPS. Speed is also 
noticably slower on 0.9.6

2) What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Using any version > 0.9.6 in any configuration
2. Sometimes the crash is after time however it seems to be triggered by a 
bullet collision (or the triggered particles/sound) during a battle
3. I have tested with all CPU configurations (except frame skip/limit) and 
speed hacks. MicroVU considerably speeds up the game but seems to crash a 
lot more frequently.

3) What exactly happens when you experience this issue (listing any console
errors or screen output you recieve)?

There are no errors in the console, the entire emulator locks and if it is 
not closed immediately there is a severe performance impact on the entire 
OS.

4) What version of PCSX2 are you using? On what operating system?
Testing with pcsx beta 1474, svn rev1614 and rev1634, Using Windows 7 X64 
Ultimate, latest SVN build of GSDX SSSE3 DX11 (but have tested older 
versions and also ZeroGS) 

5) Please provide any additional information below.
BIOS version is Europe V2.00 (14/06/2004). For a quick test, watch the 
intro cutscene. When the mechs fire missiles the emulator crashes.

This is my first bug report so i hope that the information i have provided 
is helpful.

6) Attachments.  *IMPORTANT!*  We have a limited storage quota on
GoogleCode, so please keep attachments to UNDER 200k!  Do not upload
blockdumps!  Do not upload MP3 dumps.  Use 3rd party image hosts for
screenshots when possible.

With MTGS Off, the emulator doesnt crash it just stalls. After observing task 
manager it appears to be garbage collecting since the memory usage reaches 
roughly 
2GB then drops to roughly 400MB

It's one of the dma systems, my bet is GIF again.
I'll mark is as a duplicate, since we have oh so many of these :p

I don't know of which one this is duplicate of, so here you go. >_<

Using r3738, with and without "Use Synchronized MTGS" enabled. 
On new game, after the first dialog scene.

try the EE timing gamefix since it sometimes fixes things like this.
i got a similar message in Melty Blood Actress Again and solved it with the 
gamefix.

I have build several versions pcsx2.exe and tested them with current plugins 
from package 0.9.7-r3738.
And I have found playable version. It's r1125. It's already don't have 
poligon-mistakes and still don't freeze.
Version r1500 already freezing.
So there is some mistake in pcsx2 code between versions r1125 and r1500 which 
make Front Misson IV freeze.
Hope this information will help you fix this bug in nearest future.
