Same issue on ATI or Nvidia Card, I think is indipendent from driver setting.
DX9 or
10 is the same
On software render path all' is ok , I think is related only to gsdx and
indipendent
from the hack of pcsx2

Odd, I get this display, no matter what (hw) renderer and settings I use. :

you still have the xor dirty layer but not the shadows glitch.
Your rendering speed is quite amazing
Could you try in software mode with 1 sw thread? , the glitch should disappears.

i notice that you are using the native resolution but your image is a lot less
shimmering and aliased than mine and also the texture are filtered. In fact i
am not
able to select texture filter when native resolution is selected

Hm, ok, this might be a GS download problem then. Much like the Shin Megami
Tensei
game's shadow issues.
We're aware of that, and a proper fix is being worked on (sometimes, so don't
expect
one anytime soon :p ).

the r2058 svn fix part of the problem , now the xor trasparent layer is gone on
some
scene , and the rendering is perfect.
http://i38.tinypic.com/wbuy9v.jpg
But in the cut scene there still the garbage transparent layer , and also the
shadows
are gone, there still the strange wrapping shadows on some cutscene and there
still
the garbage on the strategy view during the game

Yeah, it fixes it by not running the pitch conversion.
So the bug is still there, it just may be hidden off screen somewhere.
Still working on this though, stay tuned :p

Hello everyone. What's the status on this issue?! I'd love to see even a
workaround.
How do I use the r2058 svn posted above? Do I have to compile it, if so can I
do it
in Visual Studio 2008 express edition?
Also for some reason the load state doesn't work for me (it returns an error)
so I
can't test that out.
I am dying to play the game once more (since the fans translated it) but I
can't
stand the glitches on the map! :(

It's possible to fix it in the latest GSdx revisions.
You'll have to enable hacks in the ini, then set skipdraw to 5 or so.
Find a compiled build of GSdx somewhere if you want to play now.
Otherwise wait for us to release a beta.

The situation has improved recently. At some point between r2680 and r2721, it
became (mostly) unnecessary to use the skipdraw hack for fixing the overhead
battle
view. There is still the occasional glitchiness during cutscenes (such as the
sky in
the "new game" cutscene) and some levels still display a low amount of garbage
on the
map.
I recommend EmuCR for getting compiled versions of recent revisions.

Actually, I may have been wrong. It could just be that the darker maps are less
glitchy. I'm now on a daylight mission and the glitches are back like before...
