Animaniacs The Great Edgar Hunt - Broken ingame graphics #46

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use any configuration of the plugins - different CPU options/graphics
options/speed hacks/etc. neither cure the issue nor make it worse.
2. Go through all the menus, hit 'New Game', and actually go into the game
(the videos show fine, but the ingame graphics are totally broken).

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The textures on the screen, including models, are completely broken - they
are flashing in different colors and there are various black and colored
polygons all over the screen as you walk, the ingame graphics appear to be
totally garbled.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest SVN (r546), also tried various previous SVN builds, as well as the
latest official release (0.9.4). I'm using the latest version of the GSdx
plugin (tried both 0.1.14 and the latest SVN compile), but I also tried
using ZeroGS 0.97. Both plugins generate very similar results (with minor
subjectively perceived differences, graphics is still broken in the same
way with both plugins).

Please provide any additional information below.
No extra information.

Sorry, forgot to specify that I tried this on two PCs, one running Windows XP
SP2,
and another running Windows Vista SP1. Under Windows Vista, I tried both DX9
and
DX10 modes for the GSdx plugin.

Did you try software rendering in GSDX?

@ Nneeve: Aye, tried that, didn't help - still the same issues, only the
framerate
goes down significantly.

Some of the changes that took place within the previous three or four days
partially
cure the problems in this issue - the majority of texture flickering and the
majority of black/colored polygons are gone now, and what remains is just some
odd
black or white polygons popping up here and there as you walk (which looks
somewhat
similar to the SPS problems).

I'm reporting that changes in revision r666 (the EE "Full" Mode in particular)
appears to fully resolve Issue 46 with Animaniacs, a quick run through the
first
couple maps has showed that no flickering polygons or other trace of SPS or
other
graphics problems is present in that game, I'll try to check and see if it's
fully
playable now.

Another report: played through the first four maps plus a couple mini-games,
and I
think the game is pretty much playable now. No SPS anywhere except for very
minor
odd polygons appearing at the character select screen, otherwise the ingame
graphics
look entirely normal, the speed is rather high with EE Clamp set to Full and VU
Clamp set to Normal, and all the textures look normal-colored under GSDx in
DirectX
10 mode. Under DX9 mode the textures don't flicker but some of them are colored
wrongly. Therefore, I think Issue 46 is pretty much no more with the latest
emulation improvements. Thank you very much for the hard work, guys.
