Graou Mark of the Wolves Background issue #542

1) Did the game ever work correctly (i.e. not have this problem) on the
Official PCSX2 build or an earlier version of PCSX2 playground?
(If so, please specify the latest pcsx2-playground or Official revision
that last worked.)

same issue on 9.6

2) What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.start game
2.notice intro 
3. notice vs mode or story mode

3) What exactly happens when you experience this issue (listing any console
errors or screen output you receive)?

what happens is the beginning screen is black but u can still hear the
sound in the backgroud and when selecting players u cant see anything
besides the sprites and the top pictures when fighting u can only see the
sprites the bars and no background
4) What version of PCSX2 are you using? On what operating system? Plugins?

am using 9.6 and new 9.7 2436 build

Confirmed this on r2454. Speedhacks all fully disabled; all settings default in 
the
emulator.

Hardware/Software GSDX in DX9 and DX10 gives the same results.

Also occurs in ZeroGS.

Hmm, sounds like it very well might not be GS-related, then.  Hard to tell 
without 
further investigation.

Marking as Accepted as this problem sounds fairly specific to this game, and 
likely 
won't be fixed by other noted pending bugs.

Definitely still a problem. It still exists in r3141.

For the most part nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but there were a few 
lines in
the log...

IOP Initializing...doneSRD: sceOpen error = -19

DVCI: "BGM.AFS" found.
DVCI: Total 1 files.
PS2RNA: sceSifAllocIopHeap(266304) ret=0x000dcd00
PS2RNA: sceSifAllocIopHeap(2256) ret=0x0011de00
PS2RNA: sceSifAllocIopHeap(16448) ret=0x0011e700

A bit later, we get this, as well:

DVCI: File cache was not hit. "¥ADX¥MOVIE.AFS;1"

If someone wants to take a look at it, I can provide a blockdump if asked.

Nah, that's all pretty normal stuff.  Chances are its a problem with the 
VIFunpacker, 
VUs, or VIF/GIF dmas (path3masking, etc).  The first can cause all sorts of 
issues 
(uncluding SPS), the latter two can cause missing geometry and corrupted 
textures,

This game is part of the NeoGeo Online Collection, the other games in this 
collection
I saw (mostly KoFs) don't have this kind of problem, not that I remember at 
least.

If I don't remember wrong in some recent revision it was said that this issue 
was fixed, but I cannot test it because I don't have this game.

Oh yea, Gabest fixed this some time ago.
It's fully working and fast but only in software mode.
Hardware doesn't have the 32bit precision needed :/

I'm running pcsx2 0.9.8 (r4600) and would like to know what exactly was

The missing background graphics are fixed in software mode now.

As stated I'm using r4600 with GSdx 4600 as my graphics plugin. Tried both sse2 
and ssse3 in different software modes(DX9,DX11) respectively. Still getting the 
non-appearing backgrounds - maybe there's something specific I'm missing?

Ehr yea, it wasn't fixed in r4600 yet.
Just use the GSdx.dll you can find in the most recent SVN download:
