DBZ Infinite World: portable mode crashing? #987

1) Did the game ever work correctly (i.e. not have this problem) on the
Official PCSX2 build or an earlier version of PCSX2 playground?
(If so, please specify the latest pcsx2-playground or Official revision
that last worked.)
Yes. In fact, every revision prior to the portable mode creation worked.

2) What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Use PCSX2 in portable mode.
2. Run DBZ Infinite World normally.
3.

3) What exactly happens when you experience this issue (listing any console
errors or screen output you receive)?
The whole system freezes after some minutes, left inoperative until forcefully
restarted. Strangely, the console log doesn't report anything different.

4) What version of PCSX2 are you using? On what operating system? Plugins?
r4489, with the default plugins configuration.
Operating System = Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition Service Pack 2
(build 6002), 64-bit
Physical RAM     =  2813 MB
CPU name         =  AMD Athlon Dual-Core QL-62
Vendor/Model     =  AuthenticAMD (stepping 01)
CPU speed = 2.000 ghz (2 logical threads)
x86PType         =  Standard OEM
x86Flags         =  178bfbff 00002001
x86EFlags        =  ebd3fbff

5) Please provide any additional information below.

6) Attachments. *IMPORTANT!* We have a limited storage quota on
GoogleCode, so please keep attachments to UNDER 200k! Do not upload
blockdumps! Do not upload MP3 dumps. Use 3rd party image hosts for
screenshots when possible.

I've tried to run the same game in r4489 some minutes ago in "install mode" and
it froze the system again, yet the program log shows nothing abnormal... what
could be the problem? Older revisions were not so troublesome...

It's rare to impossible for the emulator to cause your whole system to freeze.
This suggests there is actually problems with your system rather than the
emulator.

It's possible for the GSdx texture cache to allocate too many ressources
(memory) so that the system appears to freeze.
Check if the problem persists if you play the game with software rendering.
