add to CRAN? #40

Are you planning on adding treeWAS to CRAN? I would like to add your package to conda-forge, but publication to CRAN is needed (at least highly recommended), since it provides extra quality control of the package and a stable URL. I believe more people will use treeWAS if it is directly available via CRAN and conda

Hi Nick, Sorry but treeWAS is not going to be added to CRAN anytime soon, as this would require major work to make the package acceptable.

Thanks for letting me know! Could you provide an updated release if there's been bug fixes and/or feature updates since v1.0?

xavierdidelot commented 4 years ago

There is nothing major since v1.0 but I would always advise to use the latest github version.

The git log shows some bug fixes since the first and only release. Creating a new release would be helpful creating a bioconda package for treeWAS that includes these bug fixes. The release provides a stable URL to the tarball of the package.

They are not bug fixes but rather fixes to try and make the package easier to install, and I'm not sure if they are really helping. Caitlin what do you think?
