Implement Resources feature #91

Closed angela-tran closed 1 year ago

angela-tran commented 1 year ago

Depends on #90 for the filtering part

The styling and content for this page can be worked on independently from the filtering part.

Tasks

@mrose914 just a heads up that we will need the actual list of Resources (and their links) to put on this page

mrose914 commented 1 year ago

Sounds good, we have this list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xJpgr8JBG9TgZF2mHB8Vjnhu453No4dHoNjFIhb0FQw/edit#gid=0

cc @o-ram @AnthonyRollins @laneymangan @esquared415 please have a look at this list in the coming 2 weeks and add any resources which may have been developed since.

@mrose914 we need your help getting the Resources list in order.

Column A - Category

The sheet lists these categories:

These seems to correspond with the pills/filters that show in the design:

Please confirm the correct list of Categories and that this is what should be used for the pills/filters.

Column B - Category Type

The Figma designs call for the following top level sections / groups of Resources:

It seems like this is represented in the sheet under Column B but there are some inconsistencies. What is the correct list of top level sections, and which resources belong in each section? Please update the sheet.

Column C - Topic

This doesn't seem represented at all in the Figma designs. Does this column come in to play for the website?

Column E - H

Same with all columns E - H - these don't need to be considered for the website, correct?

mrose914 commented 1 year ago

@thekaveman I updated the sheet per your comments.

Column C now includes the page the content should be hosted on.

Column D includes the tag.

Column F includes the name of the content.

Based on @esquared415's comment on https://github.com/cal-itp/calitp.org/issues/82, it sounds like we can host links v. files, so please let me know if you need anything else from me.

Thank you!

Thank you @mrose914 those edits are helpful!

One last question: the Figma designs show a date next to each resource, but what the date should be is not obvious for each of them. Can you please help getting a date assigned to each row in the sheet?

(This is more obvious for the existing press so you can ignore those).

mrose914 commented 1 year ago

Great catch, yes. Let me take a pass tomorrow and I'll ask for dates (or approximations) where I can't find them. Thank you @thekaveman.

@mrose914 one last question for you here:

The Categories in the spreadsheet include:

Should these correspond exactly to the section headings on the landing page?

E.g. in the following screenshot the section headings are:

image

Based on the what is in the sheet, do these categories make sense (all pluralized nouns)? Should any of these be grouped together (like Fact Sheets & Overviews in the screenshot)?

mrose914 commented 1 year ago

Let’s put the case studies under “case studies” and everything else under “fact sheets and overviews” - thank you! @thekaveman
