• Question or Goal: The overarching goal of this issue incorporate Economic Competitiveness into the evaluation process

• Data Required: asap

  • Currently have: FAF5 geodatabase to metrics
  • Need: identify the segments that are within the limits of Cycle 4 projects and identify the overall average Tonnage for those segments.

• Research Required: Access FAF5 geodatabase, provided by requester Kelly McClendon & Affi N'Guessan

• Metrics: what specific calculations are you looking to find? The roadway line segments in the FAF5 geodatabase contain freight data that includes the Total Tonnage for calendar year 2022 for that specific segment ([TOT_Tons_22_All]). The various segments included within a particular Project's limits were selected, the numbers were totaled and averaged to obtain the metric for that particular project.

• Expected Outputs / Findings: what do you hope to have created when this is complete? At least two product, the first is the deliverable of the scores obtained through the data collection and analysis. The second product, would be the documentation for the analysis. A potential third product would be a jupyter notebook to document the process and add efficiency if this analysis is performed again in the future.

The deliverable was sent to the reqeuster on 3/21/2024 in the Excel doc 'TCEP_SCCP_Cycle4_FreightEconomicCompetitiveness.xlsx'. The supporting data is in the process of being uploaded to Google Cloud. Additionally, the analysis and general information about the analysis was captured in a Jupyter Notebook (pending upload to GitHub).
