Tooltipster is a great library. Thanks for maintaining it.

I just wanted to look something up and stumbled upon a down website at http://iamceege.github.io/tooltipster/

It would be great if you could bring it back up.

@calebjacob You changed your username, this is going to break every link on the web to the lib page, not great. Can you change your username back, or create an account with the old name and transfer the project?

@louisameline @mark-langer Hey guys, sorry about the inconvenience. I needed to change my username for a few work related reasons. I think I found a solution that will handle a redirect and keep the old links working here: https://gist.github.com/domenic/1f286d415559b56d725bee51a62c24a7

Hopefully I'll have it fixed soon.

Well, shoot. My previous idea won't work due to the repo name being retired. I'll just have to update all of our docs to use the new link. I'll make the changes and push.

@louisameline I've updated and pushed the URL changes to the repo. Would you mind trying to publish to NPM? Having trouble doing so. Thanks!

Super, that was quick. Thanks for the update, the docs on the site are really helpful. I'll close this issue.

There are links all over the web that link to our former doc url, they contribute to the popularity of the lib due to SEO, it's terrible that all these links are broken. Could you create a new Github account with your former username to create redirections?

louisameline commented 4 years ago

We're not even the first result when searching for "tooltipster", what the fuck.

I'll close this issue but I'm still pissed how this was handled. The repo should have been transfered before you changed your username, typically to a Tooltipster organization. It would have preserved the SEO. I busted my ass to make this the greatest jQuery tooltip plugin and see it drown because of a name change, nice.
