:+1: for a band-limited compressor.
To put it differently: why does the multi-band compressor – which is an awesome tool with the small limitation #217 – have 4 bands and not 3 or 5 or …? With a compressor for just a single band, just as many such compressors as required could be used.
A plus would be side-chained detection as implemented for the side-chain compressor. I used this in the past to, e. g., detect a kick drum (at say 80 Hz) and kill its unwanted sustain (at say 50 Hz).
Cheers for the great Calf plugins! :)
Hi! Calf studio gear has a great tool called side-chain compressor. In which you can: tell analyzer to look exactly at a certain range (or a filtered/boosted frequency range) and compress my whole sound based on that.
I think it will be awesome if I could apply the compressing on single band (only a frequency range of a sound/signal).
My use case is that I have a fat wide synth, having a lot bass/mid/high, and I have a 808 kick. I want, when the kick, kicks in, the bass of my synth go down. So I should be able to send kick output as input to my multi-band compressor of the synth, and apply the compression only to a range of my signal.
Or another hypothetical situation would be to have 2 fat wide synths, both of them having bass/mid/high sounds. I want to use one of the synth's bass as side-chain for compressing the bass of another synth. Here I can only do that using a "Sidechain Multiband Compressor"
Thanks!
