What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Fresh (re)install of rev 1169
2. Enter host=mcafee-epo-2k3.ads or host:mcafee-epo-2k3.ads into search box
3. Enter host="mcafee-epo-2k3.ads" into the search box
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
In previous versions (some months ago), both #2 and #3 would do a DNS lookup
for the host (according to the local machine's domain search path) and perform
query.
In rev 1169, #2 returns "Invalid host given: $VAR1 =
'mcafee\\\\-epo\\\\-2k3.ads';" which is fair enough (quoting the hyphenated
term like host="mcafee-epo-2k3.ads" works), but ALSO creates a new tab with the
spinning beachball of death and no close box.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1169 on RHEL6.5 with mariadb55-mariadb-server-5.5.32 which incidentally is
included in RedHat's officially supported "Red Hat Software Collections 1" side
channel. Unlike RedHat's default 5.1.7, it supports the ARCHIVE engine.
