I'll try to see if I can get the executeScript() approach working. If not, I think this will be a good alternative.

Seems like executeScript() still creates scripts in their own context unfortunately. I don't think there's any other way except for triggering the debugger.

Seems like this causes the debugger to trigger on all pages, even those unrelated to the extension. I'll leave this as draft for now.
