Google Music Upload #486

Being able to upload to Google Music via this would be lovely, especially since
the existing client is a bit clunky.

Agreed! My music management is mostly automated via scripts and it would be
awesome to be able to control my Google Music library in the same way.

Corinne, what scripts are you using, out of curiousity? Does it require a GUI?
I, in particular, would like this because I want to use it on a server.

I'm really happy with my current music workflow - so I'm glad you asked! :D

I have Subsonic (http://www.subsonic.org/pages/index.jsp) installed on my home
server - that's my Google Music replacement. I also have a Squeezebox Touch
(http://www.mysqueezebox.com/download) running at home, hooked up to my
speakers. And I use beets (http://beets.radbox.org/) to organize my music.
(beets is super awesome.)

I have Dropbox and Transmission set up on my server as well. So, the current
workflow is I drop a torrent file into Dropbox, where it's picked up by
Transmission and downloaded. Then when the download is complete, a script is
executed which updates beets, subsonic, and the squeezebox server. This means I
can download new music from anywhere and have it automatically "uploaded" to
all of my services.

I'd be happy to share the script with you if you think it would be helpful.
It's largely specific to my situation but it might give you some ideas.

Well, I'd probably use Ampache if it was a question of using something other
than Google Music. I was hoping you had some scripts to deal with it. I've seen
a few suggestions of this peppered across the Internet but have had little luck
with them.
