Username/Password authentication passing parameters incorrectly

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Choose "User/PW + Certificats" as authentication option
2. Fill in information and Initiate VPN Connection

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected: Successful authentication + Connect to VPN Server
Instead: Errors saying =>

MGMT:Got unrecognized line from management:ERROR: the 'password' command 
requires 2 parameters

...

MGMT:Got unrecognized command>FATAL:ERROR: could not read Auth 
username/password/ok string from management interface

What version of the product are you using?
0.5.17 and 0.5.18 both fail.

Which Android phone are you using?
Samsung Galaxy S 3

Which firmware version are you using?
ICS

Please provide any additional information below.

Used to work before 0.5.16~0.5.17  Can't remember exactly which.
Seems like parameter passing to the "password" command got changed.  Perhaps 
meta-characters in the password string aren't escaped correctly?
