slower speeds while on vpn #75

using my htc thunderbolt if i do a speed test without the tunnel i get 12Mbps.
With the tunnel i get around 4Mbps. Then when i tether my computer and run a
speed test w/o the tunnel again i get 12Mbps and then when i use my computer to
initiate a VPN session and the tunnel is running from the computer tethered to
my phone it still get 10-11Mbps.

essentially something in the openvpn software on the phone is slowing down the
bandwidth... not sure what it is!

btw my open vpn server is on a 1Gbps line

Maybe your Mobile Device is a bit too slow (not enaugh CPU or RAM) or the
encryption is too high.
I am using a HTC HD2, a HTC Desire HD and a HTC Flyer (with problems, I will
write a bugreport too :p) and on all three devices the speed is not as on a PC
but acceptable.

I am using for my VPN 2048Bit static keys or 384Bit dh files and keys.
