I just read this note in the GitHub renaming notes and it appears there will be tools later this year that will make it possible to rename master
more easily. I'm going to wait for those tools before making the change, because right now there are 9 forks and I'm concerned about screwing up people's forks if I rename the branch.
It doesn't seem like anything's changed. In the interest of moving forward, I've changed the default branch to main
.
The switch is straightforward to do in the repo but I'm yet not sure about the implications for people who forked it.
