IPR question #9

Ericcson raised a question about IPRs: Example: Our projects develops an API (Apache licence). In progress of rolling it out we identify that this API is already there, it was developed by a 3rd party company not present in our alliance, and this company has own IPRs on that. How such a situation is avoided/solved (should be not specific to our project but general for all open source projects)?

Hi, Markus, I think the situation the community member is describing is very fact-dependent and while I can't provide legal advice we can talk about how projects address bug fixes / license conflicts from a practices perspective.
