The ▷ of "Control | Now « – ‹ – › – » ⊕Grid▷HD" looked promising. However instead of showing me how a typhoon moves 3, 6, 9, 12..., hours from now, it instead stopped the winds completely. Therefore consider adding an additional button, which would be just like the user hitting a "›" button every five seconds.

Of course you would then need a slider, so the user could adjust the seconds, not just 5. And also smooth out any jumps from a three hour change in position. And also add a reverse mode.
