Accessing figures via the API #65

Hi team,

Thanks for building such a helpful patent search service! May I ask if I can access patent figures via the API? I don't see such field on the patent response website.

If it's currently not supported, do you have any estimation on whether and when this feature will be supported? Alternatively, is there any other way I can access the figures?

Hello @hugochan, Thank you for this question and for using the API. Access to patent figures, PDF files and HTML/XML files are not yet supported through the API. We have these features on our roadmap, but not in the short term. We are open to discussing options to support and fast track the development of such features. Thank you, Aaron

@AaronBallagh Thanks for the prompt reply! Looking forward to seeing these features. Among these features, I think access to PDF files via the API is a super useful feature. BTW, what's the restrict on num of requests per minute for web crawlers to download PDF files?

Hi @hugochan, that's no problem. We do not allow web crawlers to download PDFs, see https://about.lens.org/policies/. If you are interested in accessing PDFs via an API we are happy to dicuss options, but this functionality is not available currently.

Hi @AaronBallagh, I am also interested in API that can download PDF version of the patents and related file wrapper. Can you help me with this?
