This bug has been persistent for a long time, including before #21. There's something wrong in the render loop but I've never been able to get to the bottom of it.
This bug is the only blocker for #14, which is usually affected on the first import after a hard refresh (but not on subsequent imports).
As difficult as it is to diagnose, this behavior seems to be consistent across Chrome, Firefox, and Safari, so I don't think it's a platform issue.
