Unexpected cross showing up in mobile navigation menu #2128

Steps to reproduce the issue:

Open left menu,
navigate into one submenu,
come back to main menu

Result: A glitch cross appears on the left edge of the screen.

Not only is there a cross showing but also the animation of the text in the header is wrong. This is a regression introduced by 194d720ce8a30cd82bd43277ad95579cd1bf813d.
