We need to work smart. There are 4 primary influences that drive the need for the development of enterprise standards to support SSC delivery.
1) The SSC Funding Model (current and new model under development)
2) User Experience (allow the consumers to achieve their objectives by providing an accessible, enabling, extendable, fast, monitored, reliable, scalable, secure, and self-service common base service in an open, cost-competitive, collaborative, iterative, proactive, timely and transparent manner.)
3) Service Modernization (digital transformation and elimination of technical debt into modern and iteratively improved evergreen services)
4) Service Optimization (the ability to cost-effectively manage the aggregate digital footprint of the GC at scale, without the need to “reinvent the wheel” for every request)
Balancing these against multiple themes, like data, AI, Cloud and Cloud Management, DevOps, BlockChain and IoT will be tricky to ensure a just in time readiness for standards as they are needed by associated efforts across the GC.
